Our Design, Estimating and Coordination team play a critical role conceptualizing clients’ objective and knowing upfront costs and all of the probable influences that could potentially affect budget, design and schedule. Our team’s vast project experience means you will have specialized and expert resources propelling your project.

Our Project Managers provide continuous support and a single point of contact throughout the project to ensure your project’s design and budget are aligned and that your project team is working together to mitigate unforeseen risks. Our Project Managers and Site Superintendents are respected industry wide for their ability to make decisions quickly while maintaining the best interest of the client and simultaneously managing and allowing for flexibility in the design, costing and construction of your project.

Our Site Superintendents possess the industry knowledge, multi-sector experience and confidence to manage all construction team members and related personnel in organizing, planning and safety accomplishing activities in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget. The relationship between the Site Superintendent, Subcontractors and Suppliers is essential to building trust in all relationships to promote effective issue management and quality assurance to collectively achieve targeted schedule and budget objectives.

Leadership

Scott Massé  | President
Scott is a leader who inspires confidence and trust, connecting a collaborative and results-oriented team built on transparent and fair business practices.   Scott’s construction journey began 20+ years ago while working as a labourer during high school.  In 2002, after graduating from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Construction Engineering Management, Scott joined MCI’s team full-time transitioning between Project Coordinator, Designer/ Drafter, Estimator, Project Manager and in 2011, Vice President of Operations.  This cumulative experience prepared Scott to evolve into President in 2020.  As the catalyst behind MCI building successful client relationships, Scott ensures MCI’s projects have the best people on the job and that issues encountered will be solved quickly respecting safety, quality, budget and schedule.  As an industry advocate, Scott proudly serves as a Executive Board Member for London & District Construction Association (LDCA), fostering relationships between industry stakeholders and providing guidance and direction on local and provincial issues.

Matthew Schneller, B.A., G.S.C.  | Manager of Construction + Estimating
Matthew a dedicated professional holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Waterloo as well as a Certificate of Qualification – General Carpenter and is Gold Seal Certified – Project Management stream with the Canadian Construction Association’s certification program. Matthew has over a decade of experience in institutional construction; holding positions as Carpenter, Superintendent, Project Manager and Manager of Construction + Estimating respectively. Through various tenures and assignments, Matthew’s performance and results oriented approach and vast industry knowledge has accumulated more than a decade of qualified management and estimating experience that forms the backbone of strong project leadership for MCI. Critical to your project’s success is knowing costs up front and all of the probable influences affecting cost. Matthew’s depth of knowledge in all areas of the design build method is key to providing successful results for projects of any size and scope.

Paul Massé  | Founder
Paul founded MCI Design-Build Corporation in 1986, after working 6 years as an architectural draftsperson with a local architect and 15 years with a large General Contractor firm. Paul’s extensive knowledge in all areas of construction and his philosophy and practice of ‘building confidence’ by conducting business with people opposed to companies is the result of MCI’s superior customer relations and service reputation and is continually recognized through referrals and repeat business. 30+ years later, MCI proudly celebrates its success in delivering diverse projects on-time and continually exceeding client expectations. Paul’s guidance and leadership also has touched the local construction community as a past president of the London & District Construction Association and the national construction community as a five-year term volunteer to the Canadian Construction Association Board.  Paul is also a past board director of the McCormick Home Foundation, and supported the Foundation as a director for 8 years. 

Design, Estimating and Project Management

Aaron Stark  | Project Manager
Aaron has been an integral MCI team member since 2008 working on a comprehensive spectrum of projects. Aaron is a graduate of Fanshawe College and carries an advanced diploma in Construction Engineering Technology – Management Designation and a Professional Certificate in Project Management from Western University. Aaron has a reputation for high quality outcomes while managing the flow of information from the client, suppliers and subcontractors, balancing on time assignment execution with strategic and tactical problem-solving skills. Aaron champions the essence of what makes MCI different from the competition by constantly seeking areas for improvement both professionally and on the job site.

Justin St. Amour  | Project Manager
Justin’s keen eye for detail and extensive ICI project experience has led him to deliver challenging and diverse projects while fostering open and easy communication between the client and builder. Justin holds an Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology from Fanshawe College and is a credited LEED Green Associate with the Canada Green Building Council. Justin’s organizational skills and well-rounded knowledge of construction processes and practices, building codes and quality standards will ensure your project’s milestones and critical path activities are managed to alleviate delays and align budget and schedule.

Jon Courneya  | Estimator & Project Coordinator
Jon joined the MCI team seven years ago and brings 11 years of project coordination and estimating experience in multi facets including residential and light commercial construction. Jon’s diverse skill set and expertise provides a highly knowledgeable and results oriented project specialist to your project team. Jon is focused on ensuring all of the right elements are in place so MCI can provide outstanding service, built on reputation and credibility. Jon utilizes his collaborative skills to cultivate the sharing of ideas to confirm that every project budget is designed and built as resourcefully as possible.

Matt DeVet  | Architectural/Designer Coordinator
Matt’s passion for design shared with his extensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, zoning bylaws and industry standards affirms your project will be designed using critical and creative thinking, balancing both budget sensitivity and spatial functionality. Matt, a graduate of the Architectural Technology program at Fanshawe College brings to MCI over 17 years of industry experience in both the Residential and ICI sectors focusing on design and project management. Matt’s technical skillset includes AutoCAD 2017, Google Sketchup and numerous other design and database platforms to provide our clients with diverse options right from design-build concept development through to jobsite construction.

Field

Our field team of knowledgeable and skilled Site Superintendents, Carpenters and Labourers work in tandem with our Project Managers for a seamless connection between jobsite construction, field coordination and project administration. Our field crew’s multi-disciplined construction knowledge and specific building knowhow will ensure your project is constructed safely with the upmost quality. Your Site Superintendent will manage all jobsite team members and related personnel to collectively achieve targeted schedule and budget objectives. Our team is dedicated and will regard each project, regardless of size and/or dollar value, the same attention to detail to align your vision with the projects drawings and specifications to build your project as envisioned.

The majority of our team has worked together for at least 5+ years, building confidence and trust in each others ability to think head and be accountable for ensuring completed work meets quality standards while maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Sandra Gaudet  | Accounting Manager
Sandra as a graduate from Fanshawe College has worked with the MCI financial team for over 25 years and is the guardian of every financial aspect from the idea creation to the final project completion.  Sandra’s attributes exude efficiency, accuracy, trust and transparency between the office, contractors, vendors and clients enabling MCI to stand behind its promise to be the number one provider of single source responsibility.  Sandra’s industry knowledge combined with her fervor to hold her own work to the highest standard has mirrored the integrity MCI pledges to uphold.

Joanne Esseltine  | Office Administrative Assistant
Joanne has worked with MCI for the past 10 years bringing 16 years of construction administrative experience to the team. Joanne’s keen attention to detail and knowledge of interrelated construction processes ensures your interface with MCI will be managed with top priority and accuracy. With Joanne as your first point of contact it confirms MCI’s foundation to building superior working relationships and commitment to exceeding client expectations.

Jennifer Kopal  | Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Jennifer is a graduate of the Business Administration and Marketing programs from Fanshawe College. Jennifer’s ICI industry background stems from 14 years working with the local construction association developing relationships with trades, consultants and suppliers of construction services. Her knowledge of industry practices and commitment to our industry advancement will ensure your design-build team is kept up to date with the newest findings and practices, strengthening our commitment to surpassing our client’s expectations.

Joe Massé  | Health & Safety Manager
For over 10 years, Joe has worked with MCI as our Health and Safety Manager with over 20 years of health and safety experience in the industrial sector as a certified instructor and departmental representative. Joe manages and promotes a positive health and safety culture by ensuring all MCI employees and partners are equipped with up-to-date training, certifications and have available resources to perform work in a safe and diligent manner. Joe visits all project sites to assess and abate any potential concerns, ensuring contractors are properly trained and certified, and works with our project team to continually assess and monitor our safety program and strategies.

Blair Massé  | Health & Safety Coordinator
Blair’s commitment and focus to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment is instrumental in cultivating a best practice safety culture at MCI. Blair graduated from Western University with degrees in Nursing and Kinesiology. She worked for 10 years at University Hospital before joining MCI. Blair is detailed oriented and an accomplished communicator. Her nursing background compliments the skills and knowledge required to effectively coordinate a health and safety program. Blair’s responsibilities involve ensuring our MCI team is equipped with the tools and resources to uphold rigorous safety standards and to develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard our team and our jobsites.
